Kansas Board of Regents Health Insurance Plan & Eligibility Requirements:
Graduate Students eligible to receive the University contribution towards the student-only premium must meet the following eligibility requirements:
• For each of the fall and spring semesters, the student must be appointed to a 50% GTA, GRA, and/or GA appointment for a minimum of eight consecutive work weeks during the semester. .
• For the summer session, the student must be appointed to a 50% GTA, GRA, and/or GA appointment for a minimum of four consecutive work weeks from June 1 to July 31.
Kansas State University will approve eligibility for the health insurance plan with a University contribution based on the above criteria. In order for the health insurance enrollment to be accepted, an appointment as a GTA, GRA, and/or GA must be active in the Kansas State University’s Human Resources/Payroll system.
Students who do not meet the above eligibility requirements for the GTA/GRA/GA plan may be eligible for the regular student plan. Information about on-line enrollment in the regular student plan is available at:http:://www.uhcsr.com/
Policy Year: The health insurance policy year is from August 1 through July 31 of each year, with enrollment required each semester.

If eligibility requirements are met and on-line enrollment is completed during the following open enrollment periods, health insurance will be effective as follows:

Enrollment after the end of open enrollment: A GTA/GRA/GA may elect health insurance coverage at any time after the open enrollment period ends by completing the on-line enrollment process. If eligibility requirements are met, coverage will be effective the date the enrollment is received by UHCSR. Please Note: Full premium is still required.
Enrollment is by semester only. The student pays the premium shown in the on-line brochure.
Dependents can also be enrolled in this health insurance plan. The premium for family members is the student’s responsibility. There is no Kansas State University contribution for family coverage.

Step 1: Complete the on-line application process via the link below.
Kansas State University will verify your eligibility to enroll in the GTA/GRA/GA health insurance plan. This may take up to several weeks, depending on when your appointment as a GTA/GRA/GA is entered into the university’s Payroll system. You will receive an e-mail from UHCSR confirming your eligibility with instructions on how to complete step 2 and submit premium payment.
Step 2: Follow the directions in the UHCSR e-mail to submit your premium payment. Payment by e-check, VISA, MasterCard, must be made on-line. Enrollment in this health insurance is NOT complete until UHCSR processes your premium payment.
